Job Summary
Principal Scientist, Discovery Oncology in Boston leads discovery programs to deliver differentiated oncology programs through cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities include conceiving, designing, and executing discovery-stage research, managing and supporting lab-based direct reports, and driving high-quality experimental design and data interpretation. The role requires deep tumor biology expertise (including cancer genomics and signaling), broad molecular/cellular biology and biochemistry skills, a track record of leading drug discovery programs, and strong leadership to foster talent and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. A successful candidate will drive innovation, manage multiple projects, present data, and contribute to shaping early development strategies within a global, inclusive team. Salary range is $176,200–$277,300 with eligibility for annual bonus and long-term incentives; relocation support and visa sponsorship are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's (with 14+ years) or Master's (with 10+ years) or Ph.D. (with 8+ years) in cell and molecular biology, cancer biology, or related field and relevant experience
- Deep expertise in tumor biology, including cancer genomics and oncogenic signaling
- Extensive experience leading drug discovery programs
- Broad technical expertise in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and analytical methods
- Experience managing scientists and leading multiple projects concurrently
- Proven ability to drive innovative research and successful advancement of discovery programs
- Strong communication skills and collaborative/team-oriented work style
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with a broad range of therapeutic modalities and small molecules including induced proximity
