Job Summary
Scope engineering work, schedules, and budgets for roadway project elements while monitoring progress against schedule and budget requirements. Identify scope changes, determine procurement schedules, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to facilitate bid analysis. Review technical reports, approve change orders, and ensure applicable codes and standards are followed. Monitor productivity of assigned personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training opportunities. Act as the Project Manager's deputy for meetings and technical decision-making, assisting in planning and controlling project execution. Prepare documentation for clients and circulate technical and contractual information across disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Civil or Roadway Engineering (or related field)
- 10+ years of related field engineering experience
- a broad general engineering background
- PE registration
- Relevant experience in project engineering for State DOT work
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity in a project engineering role
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of current technology and ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for project use
