Job Summary
Lead cell culture process development for monoclonal antibodies, bi-specifics, ADCs, fusion proteins and other molecular formats across early- and late-stage assets. Manage a group of 2+ scientists and engineers (BS/MS and PhDs), mentor staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, robustness, and product quality. Drive PPQ-enabled cell culture process characterization activities and contribute to regulatory submissions (IND, BLA, MAA, etc.). Advance technical expertise in cell culture development, track emerging trends, and present findings through conferences and publications. Represent the organization as a scientific thought leader in the external and internal community.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
- 16+ years of experience for BS holders, 14+ years for MS holders, or 8+ years for PhD holders
- Demonstrated executive presence with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong scientific curiosity and problem-solving abilities
- Experience leading a team of scientists/engineers in cell culture development and bioprocess optimization
- Strong understanding of cell culture processes, including scale-up/scale-down and protein characterization
- Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams (CMC, Manufacturing Sciences, Regulatory) and contribute to regulatory submissions
- Mentoring and developing staff to achieve scientific objectives
- Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in cell culture and bioprocessing
- Strong planning, organization, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience with bench-scale bioreactors and high-throughput cell culture systems
- Experience in problem-solving within biologics pipelines (IgG, bispecifics, ADCs)
