Job Summary

The Principal, Risk Policy and Regulatory Strategy role requires collaboration with internal governance, legal, and regulatory teams to formulate and implement risk management policies. Key responsibilities include engaging with regulatory bodies, contributing to major filings, and developing effective risk strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quantitative finance, mathematics, computer science, economics, public policy and/or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in risk analytics development and modeling.
  • 2 years managing projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate highly technical information in an accessible manner.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex regulatory processes.
  • Demonstrated familiarity and experience working on CPUC or other regulatory proceedings and filings like General Rate Cases, Applications, etc.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of quantitative risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with CPUC Risk-Informed Decision-Making Framework (RDF) and associated proceedings.
  • Familiarity with risk management topics like risk tolerance methodologies, catastrophic risk modeling, portfolio optimization, risk quantification and reporting.
