Job Summary

Establish and apply technical knowledge in quality engineering, specification standards, drawing interpretation, and measurement analysis. Identify and resolve complex technical problems on the production floor through root cause investigations and corrective action implementations. Monitor quality using statistical process control procedures and interface directly with subcontractors to assess supplier quality and manufacturing processes. Manage waiver requests, deviations, and discrepancy reporting while coordinating with external teams for data gathering and risk mitigation. Review non-conforming material for compliance and facilitate root cause and corrective action activities to drive closure. Perform manufacturing assessments, audits, and reliability evaluations to ensure quality standards are maintained. This contingent role supports manufacturing operations at the Waynesboro, VA facility, requiring a Secret clearance and 5+ years of relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM major
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality or mission assurance
  • Experience reading engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, 8D, 5 Why
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and higher level program clearance(s)
  • US citizenship

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in quality or mission assurance
  • STEM PhD and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in quality or mission assurance
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Active Secret clearance
  • MES, SAP S/4 AND HQMS
  • Proficient with AS9102 and AS9100D Aerospace standards
  • Working knowledge or certification(s) in IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Working knowledge and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) IAW ASME Y14.5
