Job Summary
Lead the EMEMS Sensors design team to deliver highly reliable products meeting customer requirements at the lowest cost. Provide technical leadership across hardware, software, and test engineering, mentor team members, and serve as prime customer liaison. Oversee cross-functional programs, manage budgets and schedules (including earned value reporting), document risk and opportunity management, and track action item capture and closure. Coordinate hardware and software development configurations throughout the engineering process, drive design work scope content for concepts and testing, and support proposals, business plans, and specifications. Present progress to customers and Collins leadership, and ensure programs meet schedule, cost, and performance targets.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Prior experience managing and coordinating hardware and software development configurations throughout the engineering process
- Prior experience establishing design work scope content for concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product development, integration, and test
- Progressive technical and leadership responsibility on electronic development and integration programs
- Experience with MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present stage gate design reviews both internally and externally to customers
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage project schedules
