Job Summary
Principal Project Engineer - Process Engineering at J&J Innovative Medicine site in Gurabo, PR, responsible for managing site Master Plan and capital projects, ensuring budget, schedule, and scope alignment; leading cross-functional teams with internal/external partners; applying lean principles and ensuring compliance with EHS, GMP, and regulatory requirements; translating concepts into compliant designs; utilizing Project Portfolio Management tools; delivering periodic status updates to senior management; requiring bilingual (Spanish/English) fluency, travel, and ability to work extended hours. Onsite/hybrid role with a focus on improving labor utilization, material flow, and information management within Supply Chain operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering project management or related engineering areas (utilities, production maintenance)
- Fluent in Spanish and English and must have ability to write in both languages
- Availability to travel
- Work irregular shifts, frequently requires working extended hours, and may be required to work on holidays and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: Business Excellence Black Belt or Green Belt certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish
- Travel availability
- Experience with Lean principles
- Project management experience in capital projects
- Experience with GMP, EHS, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with Site Master Plan projects
- Experience using Project Portfolio Management software
