Job Summary
Create and analyze reports, manage invoicing opportunities, and support monthly/quarterly tasks including EACs, IPRS, and financial forecasts. Partner with program managers, cost account managers, and business managers to provide financial support, prepare budgets and schedules, and conduct variance analysis. Monitor contract costs and schedules using validated systems, perform Earned Value Management tasks such as WBS development and cost risk analysis, and ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters. Submit timely funding requests to the government and prepare financial inputs for internal reports and presentations. This full-time onsite role in San Diego follows a 9/80 schedule and requires a US Government Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
- Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
- U.S. Citizenship required
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level clearance
- Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
- This is a full-time onsite position that offers the 9/80 schedule
- Associates degree with 7 years of related experience - OR - Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master's degree with 3 years of related professional experience
- Will consider 9 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement
- Experience with Earned Value Management
- Experience with financial systems including cost performance reporting and analysis
- Strong PC skills - specifically Excel proficiency (including pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting)
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field
- Experience with COBRA, COGNOS, SAP
- Current, active DoD Secret security clearance
