Job Summary
Lead and shape the Browser Monitoring product within New Relic's Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) team. Develop and execute a roadmap that positions New Relic as a leader in front-end observability, collaborating with Engineering and Design to deliver high-impact features while balancing technical debt and innovative bets. Serve as the primary SME for Browser Observability, enable GTM and thought-leadership initiatives, and maintain a close feedback loop with enterprise customers to address pain points in how applications are observed and optimized. Drive market analysis of the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, ensure smooth integration with APM and other observability solutions, and lead cross-functional efforts across teams to deliver a world-class UX and valuable product outcomes. Strong emphasis on frontend expertise (JavaScript frameworks, DOM, browser rendering), strategic communication to executives and engineers, and a data-driven approach to roadmap development and customer adoption challenges. The role supports a flexible workforce model with options for fully office-based, fully remote, or hybrid arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 4 years focused on Observability, APM, or Digital Experience Monitoring
- Strong front-end fluency with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and understanding of browser rendering lifecycles and the DOM
- Strategic communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for executives and engineers
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytical data to inform roadmap and adoption challenges
- Proven ability to lead without formal authority in fast-paced, distributed environments
- Open to collaboration with Engineering and Design to ship high-impact features; balance technical debt with big bets
- Experience as a subject matter expert for browser observability; ability to enable GTM teams and contribute to thought leadership
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) ecosystem and browser instrumentation
- MBA or advanced degree is a bonus
- Experience with front-end engineering or open source contributions related to telemetry or observability
- Experience communicating with enterprise customers and cross-functional teams
- Ability to navigate across multiple organizations and align roadmaps with platform strategy
- Willingness to engage in a role requiring building consensus and making hard calls
- Understanding of SEO and Core Web Vitals impact on business outcomes
- Bonus: prior engineering experience as Front-End or Full-Stack engineer
- Bonus: experience with telemetry, instrumentation, or related tooling
