Job Summary
Principal Product Application Engineer (SiC) to design power electronics platforms using SiC technologies, run testing and validation of power systems, build demo systems, and present solutions to customers. Will support product go-to-market and customer design-in activities, create and deliver technical presentations, training, and webinars, and collaborate with internal teams, partners, and universities in a global, multicultural environment. Requires an M.Sc. degree or higher in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in the semiconductor industry focused on power applications, strong hardware design experience for SiC/GaN/IGBT, knowledge of thermal/mechanical design, gate driving, inductance optimization, proficiency in measurements/testing in high-voltage labs, PCB design and power module design, ability to bridge device physics with customer needs, and excellent English communication; occasional travel. Location: Hamburg, Germany; no mention of remote work.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. Degree or higher in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- 5+ years in the semiconductor industry (power applications focus; WBG preferred)
- Strong experience in hardware design for SiC, GaN, and IGBT applications
- Knowledge of thermal/mechanical design, gate driving, and inductance optimization
- Skilled in measurements, testing, and high-voltage lab environments
- Solid experience with PCB design, simulation, and power module design
- Able to connect device physics, converter design, and customer needs
- Good communication skills; fluent in English (German is a plus)
- Hands-on approach and willingness to travel occasionally
