Principal Power Platform Engineer

Job Summary
Own and administer the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, defining enterprise governance, compliance, and environment strategy for thousands of users. Establish Application Lifecycle Management standards, deploy pipelines, and enforce Data Loss Prevention policies while leading modernization of legacy solutions. Oversee platform analytics, collaborate with distributed engineering teams including offshore partners, and guide AI enablement initiatives via Copilot Studio. Represent the platform in governance committees and executive forums to drive adoption of best practices across the internal maker community. This hybrid role requires 8+ years of experience and involves presenting strategy to senior stakeholders while balancing innovation with risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in engineering or service platform roles
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Power Platform at scale
- Deep experience with: Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio
- Deep experience with: Dataverse architecture and governance
- Deep experience with: ALM strategy and CI/CD implementation
- Deep experience with: DLP policy design and connector governance
- Deep experience with: PowerShell automation and backend platform administration
- Experience managing large enterprise environments (10,000+ users preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to define governance frameworks and drive organizational change
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
- Experience influencing engineering teams and stakeholders to align on architecture decisions
- Experience leveraging metrics and telemetry to drive platform improvements
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in a technical discipline
- Experience in highly regulated industries
- Prior experience as a Service Engineer or Platform Owner in large enterprises
- Experience integrating Power Platform with enterprise systems (ERP, ITSM, IAM, data platforms)
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview and data governance frameworks
- Familiarity to enterprise AI enablement patterns
