Job Summary
Lead and supervise the educational program as School Principal for Hertford County Public Schools, providing leadership in program development, staff development, and the implementation of policies, procedures, and laws. Responsibilities include developing and administering school programs aligned with district goals, directing curricular and extracurricular activities, promoting a safe environment for individualized instruction, coordinating with central office on recruitment and personnel actions, supervising and evaluating staff, organizing meetings for staff development, communicating effectively with students and parents, managing budget and financial affairs, and ensuring compliance with board policies. Requires NC State Certification, and a Bachelor's and Master's Degree (doctorate preferred), plus ongoing professional engagement and travel to district buildings and professional meetings.
Required Qualifications
- NC State Certification is required for the position
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in School Administration)
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Sixth year, doctorate, or other planned program in a related field preferred
- Extensive successful teaching experience at the High School level
- Administrative experience at the High School level is preferred
