Job Summary

Coordinate short- and long-range planning activities, studies, and data collection for complex professional planning work. Prepare written reports, projects, and exhibits while determining data needs for planning studies. Participate in long-range planning studies, corridor studies, Comprehensive Plan updates, and annexation studies. Develop, organize, and implement short-range land use plan measures including rezoning, zoning variances, dedications, and encroachment licenses. Conduct plat and site plan reviews for new land development projects, including field work to evaluate existing land use conditions. Interpret and prepare amendments to the City's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance. Assist the Director in presentations to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. Establish communication with other agencies impacting the City. Maintain records of statistical data and supply data as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in municipal planning and zoning

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in planning
  • AICP Certification
