Job Summary
Direct planning strategies utilizing various technologies and tools to gather and analyze data, assess outcomes, and develop reporting and visuals for complex transportation, urban design, or landscape architectural projects. Determine objectives and requirements within the discipline, organize programs and projects, and develop standards and guides for diverse planning activities. Coordinate with multi-discipline team members and clients to ensure technical requirements are met, while representing the practice regionally or nationally. Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with transportation planning and engineering leaders, participate in professional organization committees, and mentor staff. Advise on best practices and technical expertise, manage project scope and budget, and oversee quality control for large-scale assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
- 12 years related experience
- Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
- 11 yrs of relevant experience
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of relevant local, state and federal requirements
- Analyzes data using critical thinking
- Develops an effective scope, schedule, and budget
- Develops a large network of high level relationships with clients and peer practitioners
- Serves as a trusted advisor
- Manages responsibility for quality control
- Illustrates a consistent level of project understanding and management by assessing project needs and creating a work plan
- Solves problems for complex issues and innovates new methodologies
