Job Summary
Principal People Business Partner to provide strategic partnership to the CTO and 10 VP/SVP+ leaders within the global Okta R&D Engineering organization. Partner with COEs to design and deliver people programs, lead AI-augmented workforce transformation, and orchestrate organizational design for the VP+ population. Deliver data-driven talent insights, drive workforce planning, and support executive decision-making. Lead annual performance reviews, calibration sessions, and rewards planning in collaboration with executive leadership to cultivate a high-performance culture and AI-driven innovation. Requires 10+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree, with experience supporting large-scale technical organizations, coaching senior leadership, organizational design, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supporting large-scale technical organizations of 1,000+ employees across global regions
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring senior technical leadership (VP and SVP levels)
- Advanced proficiency in organizational design for complex, global engineering structures and matrixed environments
- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
- Strong understanding of matrix structures and political astuteness
- Ability to manage pressure and deliver with high standards
- Ability to analyze and utilize data to make informed short- and long-term business decisions
- Ability to work in a fast-moving and changing environment
- Strong relationship-building and credibility with internal clients and HR colleagues
- Experience with high-growth technology companies and R&D functions
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience leading talent management cycles (performance reviews, calibration, rewards) and HR programs for executive leadership
