Principal or Associate – Coastal & Marine Environment

Job Summary
Lead coastal & marine environment projects in the UK across Aviation, Defense, Energy, Cities & Development, Education, Rail and Water sectors, with a focus on technical coastal work and mentoring junior staff in geomorphology, hydrodynamics, environmental assessments, and GIS. Ensure quality assurance for technical deliverables, develop scopes of services, costs and resources, and support project managers and directors through procedures including financial and change control. Collaborate with scientists, modellers, engineers and planners to deliver client services, contribute to business development and tendering activities, and oversee multiple projects. Must be a Chartered Engineer, Scientist or Environmentalist with strong experience in wave/tide modelling and GIS tools (ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS), and possess a strong desire to learn, innovate, and lead technical teams while maintaining high standards. Required Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer, Scientist or Environmentalist
- Experience delivering coastal projects focusing on hydrodynamics, geomorphology, environment, options development or adaptation
- Proficiency in interpreting/undertaking wave, tide and sediment transport numerical modelling; empirical methods; data analysis; GIS with ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS; development of adaptive and resilient management approaches for the coast
- Experience in developing and leading technical teams
- Experience in managing workload and mentoring junior staff
