Principal Optical Network Engineer (Starlink Ground Network) responsible for designing and developing optical connectivity solutions for the Starlink ground network, building lab/production test stations, and creating test software in Python for design verification. Collaborate with ground and space network teams to scale the network’s physical layer, optimize traffic flow, and develop tools to monitor health and availability of optical infrastructure; lead continuous reliability improvements. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines, 7+ years in optical experiments and test automation, and hands-on experience with DWDM, optical subsystems, testing, and scripting; location: Redmond, WA, on-site with occasional extended hours.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied physics, or an engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience in designing optical experiments and developing test automation (internships, student projects, extracurricular project experience, and professional experience all qualify)
