Job Summary
Lead technical leadership and subject matter expertise for offshore geotechnical projects within the Oil & Gas sector. Plan, specify, manage, and execute offshore geotechnical site investigations, including vessel campaigns, sampling, and laboratory testing. Direct the processing and integration of datasets to develop robust offshore ground models and lead design assessments for foundations such as piled foundations, suction caissons, and gravity-based structures. Act as Project Manager or Technical Lead, ensuring delivery to scope, budget, and schedule while preparing high-quality technical reports and client deliverables. Build strong client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and champion Safety in Design principles. Requires Bachelor's in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, extensive offshore experience, and willingness to undertake occasional offshore assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded)
- Extensive experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, ideally gained within consulting environments supporting Oil & Gas developments
- Demonstrated experience leading offshore geotechnical investigations and site characterisation programmes
- Strong technical expertise in offshore foundation design, soil-structure interaction and subsea infrastructure assessments
- Knowledge of relevant offshore industry standards and recommended practices including API, ISO and DNV frameworks
- A proven track record delivering complex multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget
- Excellent client engagement, stakeholder management and business development skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading high-performing project teams
- Future-minded, strategic and collaborative, with a commitment to innovation and technical excellence
- Willingness and ability to undertake occasional offshore assignments as required
