Job Summary
Principal – North Stafford High School: provides leadership for the school’s staff to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive educational program in accordance with state, local, and federal requirements; hires, develops, and retains an effective staff of educators and support personnel; leads school-based recruitment and selection for licensed and service personnel; designs and monitors short- and long-term goals, ensures safe and healthy school environment, monitors instructional programs and student engagement, supervises curriculum and co-curricular activities, and collaborates with parents and community members to support student success; maintains compliance with Code of Student Conduct, supports division-wide educational improvement efforts, and ensures effective operations and administration of the school; requires a Master’s degree, Virginia Postgraduate Professional license in Administration and Supervision (or eligibility), and at least three years of relevant experience including leadership roles in a K-12 setting; strong knowledge of Virginia standards, budget management, confidentiality, and effective communication; role involves leadership, supervision, planning, evaluation, and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Virginia Postgraduate Professional licensed with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision (or eligibility to obtain same)
- Three (3) years of successful full-time experience as an assistant principal or other administrator in a K-12 school; at least one (1) year at the high school level preferred
