Job Summary

Lead enterprise network engineering and modernization for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security by overseeing a team of approximately 15 engineers. Manage WAN, LAN, VPN, cloud networking, and firewall infrastructure while directing operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning. Support RMF, cybersecurity compliance, and continuous monitoring initiatives through architecture reviews and technology refresh planning. Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams, develop standards, and support regional field technology operations and training facilities. Requires Top Secret clearance and 12+ years of experience in large federal enterprise environments with expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, and cloud networking.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 12+ years of network engineering experience
  • Experience supporting large federal enterprise environments
  • Deep expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, VMware NSX, VPN technologies, routing and switching, and cloud networking
  • Experience supporting NIST, RMF, and federal cybersecurity requirements
  • Active Top Secret clearance; SCI eligible

Desired Qualifications

  • CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent certification
  • Prior experience supporting the Department of State Bureau of Diplomatic Security and/or Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT)
  • Experience supporting both classified and unclassified networks
  • Cloud networking experience in Azure and AWS GovCloud environments
