Job Summary
Principal MLOps Engineer responsible for leading operational architecture, deployment strategy, and reliability engineering to integrate AI into healthcare information systems. Defines enterprise release governance and ensures deployment readiness, oversees the enterprise model registry with CI/CD integration, and drives monitoring, data-quality checks, and drift detection. Leads incident management, postmortems, rollback mechanisms, and recovery infrastructure; collaborates on security, traceability, and compliance (ATO) with regulated environments; guides junior engineers in maintaining runbooks and reliable deployment pipelines. Requires extensive cloud and MLOps experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, and a track record of production-grade ML systems in healthcare or similarly regulated domains.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 6 years deploying and maintaining large-scale ML systems in production
- MLOps & Cloud experience with AWS/GCP/Azure
- Orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Kubeflow, or Airflow
- Python and Java/Go (or similar) programming
- Backend frameworks, microservices, and system design patterns
- Observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and enterprise SLAs/SLOs for AI services
- Automated deployment pipelines, complex rollback procedures, and model registry governance
