Principal Mission Assurance Engineer

Job Summary
Lead mission assurance for satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace programs. Act as the primary subject matter expert for customer-specific mission assurance and quality requirements across design, manufacturing, integration, and test to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Drive implementation and modification of mission assurance processes within the quality management system. Ensure delivery of mission assurance deliverables including reporting and documentation. Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to support internal and external audits, customer reviews, and program milestones. Collaborate with supply chain to ensure supplier flow-down and compliance, manage risks and action plans, and lead investigations and dispositions of major nonconformances using root cause and corrective action methods. Serve as mission assurance reviewer for design reviews and review boards (e.g., Corrective Action Review Board, Engineering Review Board, Failure Review Board). Provide training and guidance to engineering, program management, and operations teams on mission assurance processes and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years relevant work experience or training required
- Experience in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industry
- Deep, working knowledge of mission assurance requirements such as NASA, DoD, or similar high-reliability standards
- Proven experience in developing, documenting, and implementing new processes and tailoring existing processes
