Job Summary
Principal Microbiologist within the Water Anchor RD&E group in Naperville, IL, responsible for leading research, development and problem-solving projects to enable new product and platform technology development for microbial control in industrial water systems. Collaborates across scientists, RD&E teams, marketers, sales, and customers to develop, evaluate and deploy technical offerings; leads projects and program segments to meet technical and business objectives; develops new products, analytical tools, and systems integrating automation, equipment, and digital components to deliver differentiated value in microbial control; plans and performs relevant experiments, interprets results to solve complex research problems; documents and communicates research activities; provides consulting/mentoring on experimental design and direction for junior associates; provides technical support to assist the sales process; travel up to 15% as needed; safety is the top priority. Experience with microbiology techniques, design of experiments, and cross-functional collaboration, strong communication and problem-solving skills are highlighted as key capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Microbiology or related field and 0 or more years of R&D experience
- Master's Degree in Microbiology or related field and 1 or more years of R&D experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or related field and 2 or more years of R&D experience
- Experience in microbiological laboratory techniques and design of experiments, analytical techniques, and chemical product characterization
- Experience in technical leadership, communications, and management of complex research projects involving multi-functional teams
- Ability to travel up to 15%
