Job Summary
Principal Mechanical Engineer in Oklahoma City responsible for analyzing complex systems and precision electro-mechanical assemblies, guiding design concepts, and acting as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure safety and performance. Tasks include evaluating drawings, establishing milestones and master plans, and resolving program issues. Must have extensive CAD experience (NX/CREO/SolidWorks), apply engineering principles to product research, development, integration, and test, and possess strong communication for cross-functional collaboration. DoD secret clearance is required (or the ability to obtain). Relocation not offered; travel not required. This role sits within Northrop Grumman’s Systems and Software Solutions with a focus on aerospace/defense programs such as USAF platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
- PhD degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Experience with CAD modeling (NX, CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Experience with design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies
- Experience in a technical leadership role on a cross-functional product development team
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) secret security clearance
