Job Summary
Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK, developing P&IDs, valve schedules, and process equipment through the full project lifecycle. Provide technical expertise to the team by mentoring junior engineers, developing knowledge and excellence within the group, and coordinating with Electrical, Civil, Geotech, and Process engineers to ensure compliance with client asset standards. Collaborate with commercial and construction teams to deliver efficient, safe solutions while managing client relationships to support project aims. This role supports Mott MacDonald Bentley's multi-million-pound capital delivery programme for Wessex Water, delivering schemes in the Bournemouth, Poole, and South Dorset areas.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Mechanical Engineer or above
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Strong knowledge of the water and/or wastewater industry
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards relating to process industries
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines
