Job Summary

Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. Design machine arrangements within plant facilities to ensure efficient layouts and specify fabrication procedures for tools affecting product performance. Manage third-party machine builders and suppliers through quoting, deliverables tracking, and factory/site acceptance testing. Incorporate inspection requirements into production plans, inspect machinery performance, and investigate deficiencies to initiate corrective actions. Develop statistical process control techniques and provide guidance on design concepts to optimize equipment utilization. Ensure all processes comply with applicable regulations. This individual contributor role within the technical career stream advances existing or new technologies and therapies from design through implementation, working with stakeholders to achieve desired results while mentoring colleagues and managing complex projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Master's degree
  • PhD
  • 7 years of relevant experience
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a high degree of ambiguity and need for discovery
  • History of succeeding in a fast-paced, highly dynamic new product development environment
  • DMAIC and Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Black Belt certification
  • Mastery of a specialty area
  • Full knowledge of industry practices
  • Broad knowledge of project management

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience implementing software releases into manufacturing, particularly related to test automation
  • Knowledge of capital equipment production in a low-volume, high-complexity environment
  • Experience with production software release and design transfer of software into a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of capital equipment production with experience in motors, sensors, and electro-mechanical assemblies
