Job Summary
Principal Manufacturing Engineer to own the scale-up of manufacturing processes from prototype builds to high-rate production for next-generation propulsion hardware. You will define process infrastructure, production capabilities, and quality systems, lead PFMEA/PPAP/first article inspections and control plans, work on the shop floor with machinists and technicians, serve as the senior process authority for precision machining and additive manufacturing, provide DFM/DFA input at the design stage, own tooling and gauging design, drive root-cause investigations, qualify suppliers, write work instructions, and mentor engineers while supporting engine integration and test campaigns.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or Industrial Engineering — or equivalent depth of experience
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with scaling
- Deep knowledge of gas turbine–relevant processes (precision machining, DMLS/LPBF, EDM, TIG/EB/laser welding, brazing, heat treatment, coatings, rotor balancing)
- Mastery of GD&T, metrology, stack-up tolerancing, and statistical process control
- Proven experience leading PFMEA, PPAP, first article inspection, and control plan development
- DFM/DFA instincts for design-stage optimization
- Experience establishing and operating quality systems in regulated environments (AS9100, NADCAP, FAA/DoD); ITAR/EAR familiarity
- Clear, direct communication across organization
- Self-directed and execution-focused in building infrastructure
- High accountability and ownership
