Principal Landscape Architect

Job Summary
Oversee the design and delivery of landscape schemes while managing project financials, programmes, and contracts. Present design concepts to clients, build stakeholder relationships, and seek new work through proactive engagement. Prepare technical documentation from feasibility through construction information, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff as a line manager. This role supports the growth of AECOM's UK&I Landscape Architecture team, delivering sustainable design solutions for urban regeneration, airports, and environmental enhancement schemes. You will work iteratively across all design stages to create cohesive, integrated solutions that support net zero targets and create tangible community impact.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
- at least three years post-qualification experience
- Proven track record of designing public realm schemes
- managing complex multi-disciplinary projects
- Thorough knowledge of the UK planning system relevant to landscape architecture
- Experience in project management, including financial control, reporting, and programme management
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Skilled in preparing clear graphics, technical reports, and construction documentation
- Strong communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English
- Full UK driving licence
