Job Summary
Serve as the study physician for assigned trials, ensuring participant safety, ethical conduct, and compliance with protocols, ICH-GCP, and Arizona state requirements. Review and confirm participant eligibility, oversee screening outcomes, adverse events, and retention trends, while performing study-specific medical assessments. Provide medical oversight to site staff, including Sub-Investigators and CRCs, and collaborate with IRBs, sponsors, and CROs for monitoring visits and close-out activities. Review clinical data to support timely safety reporting and contribute to high-quality source documentation and query resolution. This role offers a slower pace with flexible hours (5–20 hours/week) and no overnight call, supported by structured onboarding and a dedicated research team. Compensation includes a monthly retainer tiered at $125/hour with bonus opportunities based on quality standards and revenue targets.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO (Internal Medicine)
- Active, unrestricted Arizona medical license
- Interest in clinical research
- Comfort reviewing structured clinical data
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong confidentiality practices (HIPAA/PHI)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a PI or Sub-Investigator
- Familiarity with ICH-GCP and FDA regulations (21 CFR Parts 50, 54, 56, 312, 812)
- Board certification in Internal Medicine
- DEA registration if required by specific protocols
