Job Summary
Define and own DigitalOcean's hardware architectures for next-generation compute environments across CPU, GPU, Storage, and Infrastructure Server SKU products. Drive the forward-looking roadmap for CPU, GPU, Storage, and Infrastructure hardware platforms, collaborating with Infrastructure and Networking teams and external vendors. Lead end-to-end server and storage topology designs, guide hardware selection and qualification, evangelize emerging technical concepts to senior leadership, and mentor engineers. Represent DigitalOcean externally at conferences and in technical papers while driving PoC initiatives to deployment standards. This role is remote, with Seattle Metro as the primary location indicator.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in server architecture, storage architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a related field
- deep expertise in server and storage hardware platforms
- experience driving AI/ML hardware roadmaps
- knowledge of emerging hardware approaches (CXL, DPUs/SmartNICs, disaggregated storage)
- strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills
