Job Summary
Principal IC Design Engineer will lead and personally contribute to the design and development of ultra-low-power analog and mixed-signal ICs for implantable medical devices. The role involves technical leadership across all product-development phases, collaboration with system hardware/software/clinical teams, and delivering production-quality silicon that meets stringent medical and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include architecture and block-level design, circuit design and simulation, layout planning, verification and validation, test-vector development, and cross-functional collaboration to address clinical and business needs. Required: MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC design for low-power/implantable apps, strong communication and technical writing, proficiency with Cadence mixed-signal tools, and experience with pre/post-silicon verification and design-for-test; preferred: medical-device domain experience, FDA-design controls, patents/publications, and international collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (MS / PhD)
- 8+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design for very low power portable and/or implantable applications
- Strong verbal communications and technical writing skills
- Experience with Cadence mixed signal tools (Virtuoso XL, Spectre, Xcelium/AMS, Maestro)
- Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon verification, test-vector generation, and design-for-test
- Knowledge of CMOS processes, device models, and design trade-offs (BW, noise, power, stability)
- Experience with low-power design techniques and publication/patent history preferred
- Experience with medical domain designs (neuromodulation, energy conversion, RF) is desirable
- Experience with international teams and German language desirable
