Principal HW/SW Integration Engineer Lead

Job Summary

Lead Hardware/Software Subsystem integration activities at the Main Subsystem Vehicle or Key Vehicle level, coordinating across SW/HW teams including FPGA, Flight Software, and Test SW to ensure vehicle functions meet intent. Drive completion of unresolved system-level interfaces and subsystem interface documents/models while supporting documentation reviews for internal, SDRL, and CDRL stakeholders. Manage delegation to SEIT, Avionics, Firmware, and Test POCs, and focus on test labs to execute hands-on integration and V&V activities ensuring hardware fidelity and sim model validation. Maintain Active Secret Clearance and work onsite 100% in Huntsville, AL, with up to 25% travel, reporting to a high-performing multi-site team focused on mission-critical edge platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to Travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline or related experience
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong focus on systems-level development testing and integration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-impact solutions
  • Experience with I&T integration and test
  • Experience developing and executing system-level and HIL test procedures
  • Strong understanding of requirements verification and validation processes
  • Experience troubleshooting integrated HW/SW systems in a lab environment
  • Ability to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peers

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Experience leading technical projects or mentoring junior engineers
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (Cameo, AADL)
  • Experience with Signal Processing Implementation
  • Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designs
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
