Principal Highway Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the design and delivery of major highway and road infrastructure projects in the UAE and wider Middle East, including expressways, urban roads, and interchanges. Provide technical leadership for geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignments, and cross-sections per UAE and international standards. Review designs with structures, drainage, utilities, and traffic teams; act as technical authority for complex challenges. Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and tender documents while engaging with clients and regional authorities. Mentor junior engineers, support business development proposals, and manage project planning and resource allocation. Requires 15+ years of highway engineering experience and Chartered Engineer status. Full-time role in Dubai with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 15+ years of relevant experience in highway engineering and design
- Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of highway and road infrastructure projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of regional authority standards (RTA, DM, ADM) and international highway design codes (AASHTO, DMRB, etc.)
- Strong understanding of road safety engineering, sustainable transport solutions, and digital delivery tools (OpenRoads, Civil 3D, Infraworks, etc.)
- Excellent technical report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced consultancy environment

Desired Qualifications
- Master's preferred
- Chartered / Professional Engineer status (CEng, PE, or equivalent)
