Job Summary
Principal Hardware Application Engineer within the Data Center Solutions (DCS) Business Unit, responsible for supporting FAEs, sales teams, and customers across the product lifecycle—from product introduction through post-production—of data center hardware solutions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and OEM/ODM partners to ensure successful integration and deployment in data center, ML/AI, and storage environments. Provides design review services and hands-on support for system bring-up, board-level debug, and transition to production; analyzes customer architectures to deliver timely technical support; leads root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams; develops user guides, release notes, technical product training, reference designs, and application notes; drives customer requirements through project management; travel domestically and internationally to support customer sites and debug systems involving hardware, software, and firmware; works independently and in teams across multiple locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related field
- Experience with board-level and system-level debug & bring-up, high-speed signal integrity, and board design
- Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other test instruments related to storage or networking
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations
- Technical leadership, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
- Project management experience
- Experience in international standard compliance and tradeshow events
- Functional spoken/written English
