Job Summary
Principal Greenfield Software Developer (Builder Lead) at Boeing Canada, Vancouver/Richmond, BC. Owns end-to-end delivery of a product capability as an individual contributor with a small team of developers. Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days/week in the Richmond, BC office). Responsibilities include defining technical scope, designing architectures for full-stack cloud-native apps, building frontend interfaces, backend services, and APIs, implementing CI/CD, integrating AI/ML/LLM capabilities, guiding a Builder Lead, and ensuring quality aligned with the technical strategy. Requires strong full-stack experience, multi-cloud/hybrid cloud familiarity, and leadership of a technical team in an enterprise setting. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and eligible to handle U.S. export-controlled data. Salary range CAD 133,000–237,000; relocation assistance not negotiable.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software development / engineering experience delivering production software in enterprise, cloud, or product development environments
- 7+ years proven full-stack development experience
- 7+ years of experience with modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, automated testing, release management)
- 4+ years of general ML/Data integration with recent production experience in LLM orchestration and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
- 2+ years of experience as a manager, technical lead, or builder lead
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must not pose a risk to the safeguarding of controlled goods
- Must be eligible to handle U.S. export-controlled data
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading small developer teams and guiding engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical mentorship
- Experience building and shipping full-stack, production-grade cloud-native applications
- Experience with AI, ML, or LLM capabilities integrated into software products (including AI-assisted development methods)
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks; ability to own technical tradeoffs and document decisions
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment pipelines in enterprise or multi-cloud environments
- Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud setups, observability, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience in aerospace, industrial, or highly regulated environments (preferred)
- Ability to work in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Strong collaboration across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations to translate business needs into technical outcomes
