Job Summary
Lead flood risk assessment and management solutions, hydraulic modelling, and sustainable drainage projects for major infrastructure and development schemes across the UK. Provide technical leadership on drainage and water environment projects while managing project delivery, budgets, and quality assurance processes. Embed mitigation and resilience in design through engagement with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to satisfy planning requirements. Mentor junior team members, support business development via tender submissions and market analysis, and contribute to the growth of the UK Water team's service offering.
Required Qualifications
- BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Management, Geography or a related discipline
- Typically 7+ years' experience within flood risk, drainage or water consultancy
- Chartered or nearing Chartered status with CIWEM, ICE or a similar professional institution
- Strong understanding of UK flood risk policy, National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), SuDS guidance and relevant industry standards
- Experience in producing and managing Flood Risk Assessments for planning and development projects
- Experience developing and using industry-standard software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Infoworks ICM, or similar platforms
- Experience in developing and supervising surface water drainage strategies
- Experience in Surface water drainage modelling (Microdrainage and Infodrainage)
- Experience in Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) design and assessment
- Experience engaging with regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and water companies
- Right to work in the UK
