Job Summary
Principal Financial Investigator at the New York County District Attorney's Office responsible for leading multifaceted confidential financial investigations, preparing analyses of complex financial records related to alleged criminal activity, developing leads, and presenting results to ADAs. The role involves supervising junior financial investigators, assisting in the execution of search warrants, conducting interviews, testifying at hearings and trials, and collaborating with law enforcement. Requires extensive accounting experience (minimum 12 years with an accounting background), strong supervisory and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accounting and eight (8) years of satisfactory diversified accounting and auditing experience, at least two (2) years of which must have been in the supervision of staff engaged in fiscal or accounting investigations; or
- A satisfactory equivalent.

- CFE preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Prior experience supervising in-depth investigations and teams of financial investigators
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and investigative skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with high data accuracy
- Able to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies
