Job Summary
Principal Fellows join Uncommon Schools to immerse in a rigorous leadership development program with the goal of stepping into an Uncommon Principal role. Fellows are fully integrated as instructional school leaders, collaborating with Host Principals and the Senior Director of School Support to strengthen instructional leadership, teacher development, school culture, and family engagement. The role includes ongoing feedback and assessment, school immersion, and participation in cross-regional professional development, with responsibilities that emphasize instructional leadership, data-driven decision making, and capacity-building to drive high performance across partner schools. Compensation ranges from $113,000 to $119,900, with starting pay determined by relevant professional development, certifications, and tenure. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and achievement
- At least 1 year of experience coaching, leading, and/or managing teachers (e.g., Assistant Principal, Dean of Curriculum, Instructional Leader, grade level chair, content/department chair)
- Experience teaching core subjects (e.g., Math, ELA, Science, History) is preferred
