Principal Facilities & Manufacturing Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Lead complex engineering projects for facility readiness, equipment integration, and manufacturing support systems, developing execution plans and managing multidisciplinary teams across Operations, Facilities, and EHS. Serve as technical authority for commissioning, startup activities, and operational standardization, defining infrastructure requirements and driving system reliability for ultra-pure water, hazardous chemical storage, and cleanroom environments. Conduct structured risk assessments including PHA, FMEA, and MOC to ensure safe operations, while developing SOPs and technical documentation aligned with regulatory compliance. Manage project scope, budget, and technical deliverables to support strategic planning for manufacturing capability enhancements. Full-time, on-site role with 8+ years of experience in semiconductor or chemical processing required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, advanced technology, life sciences, chemical processing, or similar industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering, infrastructure, startup, commissioning, or capital improvement projects
  • Strong background in facility systems, process utilities, and manufacturing support infrastructure
  • Experience leading structured risk assessments including PHA, FMEA, JHA/JSA, MOC, or equivalent methodologies
  • Experience developing SOPs, engineering standards, operating procedures, and technical documentation
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams
  • Strong understanding of industrial utility systems and facility infrastructure
  • Excellent technical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Full body clean room attire, including head and face coverings, and full body PPE, including a hood style respirator
  • Unassisted lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in high, precarious places, accessed by ladders, scaffolding, and powered lift trucks
  • Ability to work in an industrial production environment requiring the use of full body clean room attire
  • Ability to handle moving mechanical parts and toxic, flammable, and corrosive liquid and fuming chemicals
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding
  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, with brief periods of sitting
  • Full time employment
  • Days (and as needed on other shifts)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cleanroom manufacturing environments
  • Experience with facility readiness, operational readiness, and manufacturing system integration
  • Experience with Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) systems
  • Experience with Hazardous chemical delivery and distribution systems
  • Experience with Scrubbed exhaust systems
  • Experience with Wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience with Industrial automation and controls
  • Experience with Process piping systems
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA platforms
  • Experience with HVAC and environmental control systems
  • Knowledge of commissioning and qualification methodologies
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
