Job Summary
Principal Environmental Consultant leading offshore environmental services and commercial activities across Ocean Infinity and Geowynd. Responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering offshore environmental service opportunities, coordinating environmental subcontractors, acting as technical authority on environmental operations, and supporting business development, tendering, and client engagement. Focus areas include environmental permitting, offshore works consenting, asset development and decommissioning, environmental risk management, and the deployment of environmentally focused technologies (e.g., remote MMO and remote PAM systems). Representing the company in client meetings, workshops, and environmental forums, and building networks with regulatory and technical stakeholders. Requires a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and at least ten years of offshore environmental experience, with a strong background in regulatory compliance and cross-functional collaboration. Salary for this position: Up to £75,000 per annum. Location mix includes Southampton, London, Hedge End, and other UK sites, with potential remote/remote-capable arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in marine biology, Environmental Science, Biological Oceanography, or related discipline
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience supporting offshore environmental operations, marine environmental consultancy, or marine environmental management activities
- Demonstrable experience supporting offshore energy, subsea, or marine operational projects
- Demonstrable experience identifying, developing, and executing environmental consultancy opportunities within offshore, marine, or offshore energy sectors
- Strong understanding of the offshore environmental regulatory landscape, including environmental permitting, mitigation requirements, stakeholder engagement, and compliance obligations across marine operations and offshore energy activities
- Experience supporting tendering, proposals, business development, or client-facing consultancy activities
- Experience identifying, defining, and documenting environmental and operational technical development opportunities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technology and product development teams to support implementation and operational integration
- Ability to develop and maintain effective business, technical, and regulatory stakeholder relationships
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and operate independently
