Job Summary
Lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for the Mason Project by developing an environmental management system, navigating the NEPA process, and managing state and federal permit matrices including Aquifer Protection and Clean Water Act certifications. Direct technical documentation for critical permitting, oversee comprehensive baseline programs for groundwater and biological resources, and coordinate field sampling campaigns for sediment and stormwater. Maintain rigorous cultural heritage inventories and protocols while managing tribal relations and agency inspections. Review external consultant reports, compile detailed environmental data for stakeholders, and develop cost estimates for project tasks. Perform work in field conditions near mining operations, requiring a valid driver's license and adherence to strict health and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Mining, or a closely relevant scientific discipline
- 7–10 years of progressive environmental permitting, site environmental management, or environmental consulting experience within the mining industry
- Demonstrated experience with state and federal permitting of exploration and mining projects
- Proven competency in waste management, groundwater monitoring/modeling, and geochemical processes related to mining sites
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain self-directed
- Current and valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions
- Must be able to work in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to stand, walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to taste or smell
- Must be able to successfully pass a physical and drug screening
