Job Summary
Senior Principal Engineer leading advanced tissue manufacturing and laser-based process technologies. Responsible for technical leadership across tissue process engineering, overseeing concept to deployment, site transfers, and production ramp-up for a regulated medical device environment. Collaborates with NPD/NPI, Quality, Regulatory, Validation, suppliers, and global sites; conducts complex experiments/validation, applies biomechanics to design and automation, and mentors engineers/technicians while promoting safety and best practices in tissue processing and laser technologies. Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering/science, 6 years in regulated settings, and travel up to 25% with onsite presence; advanced degrees and Lean Six Sigma are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific with 6 years of engineering experience in a highly regulated environment
- Experience working with laser equipment
- Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Onsite required
- Advanced degrees and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
- Medical device industry experience
- Experience with design, development, operation, and troubleshooting of laser systems including ultra-short pulse, CO2, fiber lasers
- Experience serving as a technical project lead with a track record of transferring complex manufacturing or laser-based technologies across sites or product lines
- Strong financial acumen related to capital equipment, budget and operating expense management, and cost-benefit analysis
