Job Summary
Principal Engineer Systems Architect at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, located on-site in Melbourne, FL. Design system architectures, define key capabilities and requirements, and establish constraints and interfaces aligned with customer needs. Develop and maintain the engineering model with structure and behavior diagrams, collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain data, and apply traditional systems engineering concepts within an accelerated design process. Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), working in an agile environment, and capabilities to work in fast-paced multi-tasking settings are required. Key responsibilities include creating conceptual data models and data flows, designing and documenting systems with MBSE, reviewing modifications for cross-compatibility, implementing data strategies, coaching team members on requirements, architecture, and implementation within the model, and performing systems requirements analysis and requirements management (including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience
- Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering
- Must have experience modeling software systems and software system of systems
- Must have experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework
- Must have experience with RNP and RNAV navigation specifications
- Must have an active DoD Interim Top Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
