Job Summary
Principal Backend Engineer in India (remote via EOR) leading architecture and technical strategy for scalable backend systems. Architect end-to-end software solutions using modern frameworks; lead high-traffic system design discussions; define architectural improvements for scalability, observability, and resilience; uphold code quality, security, accessibility, and data privacy standards. Lead cross-functional projects from concept to delivery, collaborating with product and business teams to align technical vision with business needs; oversee feature delivery and efficient resource use. Build and maintain distributed systems with Spring Boot microservices, Docker, Kubernetes; optimize databases (MySQL, Oracle) with indexing and tuning; implement Redis caching, Eureka service registration, and ELK for monitoring. Configure load balancing with Nginx/Apache; own CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins; ensure system health via proactive monitoring and alerting; drive infrastructure as code and reliability engineering improvements. Mentor engineers, conduct reviews, and influence senior leaders across teams; foster innovation, ownership, and accountability within the engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise-level software development
- Advanced proficiency in: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, MySQL, Oracle, and Redis; React and modern front-end frameworks; Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins CI/CD; Linux/UNIX, Nginx, Apache, and ELK Stack; deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles; proven ability to architect and deliver complex backend systems and mentor technical teams; strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and align multiple teams toward shared goals
