Job Summary
Principal Software Development Engineer to design and implement software for mission planning solutions within an Agile team. Collaborate with Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to build and test tools, services, and protocol bridges; contribute to software architecture for USAF Open Architecture initiatives; develop software on an agile team; document software and present results to internal/external customers; travel up to 10%. Requires MBSE familiarity, traditional systems engineering concepts, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Onsite in Melbourne, FL; relocation assistance may be available; DoD Secret clearance required (with potential to obtain TS/SAP).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM
- 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 3 years with a Master’s degree
- Experience developing software with C/C++/Python/Java/Rust
- Experience with USAF Open Architecture development (UCI, OMS, etc.)
- Active DoD Secret clearance (and ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP)
- Experience in agile environment and MBSE
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with Linux and software development tools (Git, CMake, Eclipse, VS Code)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with Chief Architect and Lead Systems Engineer
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university and relevant experience OR Master’s degree with relevant experience
- Active security clearance and ability to obtain higher levels as needed
