Job Summary
Hands-on ServiceNow Principal Engineer focused on CMDB/CSDM, responsible for shaping platform strategy, architecture, and standards across multiple teams. Leads design, development, testing, and deployment of complex ServiceNow solutions; produces reference architectures, solution blueprints, integration diagrams, and operating models. Acts as a technical SME and liaison to infrastructure, security, architecture, development, and operations; mentors junior engineers; drives platform governance, best practices, and technology decisions; translates business capabilities into platform capabilities and roadmap. Requires extensive ServiceNow experience in large enterprises, strong knowledge of security, compliance (PCI-DSS, SOX, NIST, ISO 27001), TOGAF/SAFe alignment, and hands-on skills across Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, scripting, and integrations with AWS/Azure. Strong communication skills and SDLC/DevOps expertise; must be eligible to work in the United States. Hybrid roles available in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
- Typically 15 years of engineering or information technology operations experience
- 5-10 years designing, implementing, and operating ServiceNow platforms in large enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM
- Knowledge of platform security architecture (RBAC, data segregation, encryption, secure development)
- Experience with SecOps, Vulnerability Response, Risk and compliance workflows, Audit readiness
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS, SOX, NIST, ISO 27001
- Hands-on experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, scripting (JavaScript), UI policies, ACLs, Service Portal/UI Builder
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise systems and cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
- REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, event-driven architectures
- Three or more ServiceNow certifications (CAD, CSA, CIS)
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum/LEAN and DevOps practices
- Experience with CI/CD, Automated testing (ATF)
- Ability to manage platform backlogs and architectural reviews
- Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)
- Background check and drug screen
