Job Summary
Principal Engineer role leading thermal hydraulic and structural dynamic evaluations of reactor vessel internals and working components. Perform design analyses for repair, modification and qualification within the primary pressure boundary of Westinghouse-designed nuclear power plants (including AP1000 and AP300). Utilize finite element simulations (e.g., ANSYS) and internal Westinghouse thermal-hydraulic codes to develop loads and qualify component design. Lead a technical team to project completion while meeting safety, quality, and budget; collaborate with subsystems, manufacturing, and project managers to develop schedules. Hybrid work arrangement based in Cranberry, PA.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering (or alternate degrees such as nuclear engineering, structural engineering, or materials science with component design experience)
- Registered Mechanical PE
- Minimum 8 years of applicable experience
- Experience with ASME Section III and Section XI criteria
- Experience with FEA and ANSYS
