Principal Engineer, Propulsion Integration

Job Summary
Lead propulsion system design, development, and certification across conceptual to flight-test phases; oversee supplier integration and interface development; ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 23/25, DO-178/DO-254, and ARP4754A; mentor junior engineers; manage CAD definition in PLM; coordinate across cross-functional teams for propulsion interfaces; travel to Ft Worth, TX, and eventual onsite presence in Jacksonville, FL; work with maintenance and operation to meet reliability targets; conduct hardware and system testing and contribute to reviews with program management.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- 8-12 years of experience in propulsion systems design and development
- 3+ years of direct FADEC-controlled turbofan engine integration experience on Part 23 or Part 25 aircraft
- 2+ years mentoring engineers
- 2+ years in bid, proposal, and project capture activities
- Proficiency with engine performance models (engine cycle deck analysis)
- Mastery of FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements and processes
- Familiarity with RTCA DO-178/DO-254 and SAE ARP4754A
- Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Experience with Dassault 3DX and/or CATIA V6
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate with manufacturing for MRB activities
- Experience managing supplier relationships
