Job Summary
Principal Engineer for Power Electronics leads research, strategy, and technology transfer within GE Vernova’s renewable & power generation and conversion units. Responsibilities include conducting power electronics research through modeling, simulation, and design of power electronic circuits and controls; developing and testing control solutions for power converter devices; leading cross-disciplinary teams to develop new power technologies and capabilities; innovating in power electronics and advancing Intellectual Property; communicating results via reports and presentations; contributing to proposals for GE Vernova businesses and government agencies (e.g., DOE, DARPA); and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements include a PhD with 10+ years or a Master’s with 15+ years of power electronics experience, willingness to work from the Niskayuna, NY office, and eligibility to obtain security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience developing power electronics and controls OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience developing power electronics and controls.
