Job Summary
As a Principal Engineer at NAB, you will design and implement a robust microservices architecture, focusing on domain-driven design principles and modernizing legacy microservices. Key responsibilities include developing a comprehensive transition plan for existing services, guiding project teams, overseeing the microservices development lifecycle, designing APIs, managing stakeholder alignment, and applying governance techniques. Required qualifications include proficiency in Java/Spring Boot, familiarity with cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, API specifications, and integration security best practices. Strong communication, data-driven decision-making abilities, and a commitment to high-quality engineering are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java Springboot/other backend framework microservices
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure
- Familiarity with build pipelines including Harness/Jenkins
- Knowledge of API specification
- Expertise in data modeling and integration schema design
- Robust understanding of integration security best practices, including OAuth and OpenAPI Specification
- Experience with integration error handling and resilience engineering
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to take a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Strong relationship-building and influencing abilities
- Exceptional written communication skills
- Strong culture and mindset on high-quality engineering and automations
- Strong customer mindset
- Ability to navigate complex, unclear situations
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Node.js is a plus
- Strong hands-on skill on backend implementation and system design
